BMW to Launch DeepSeek AI in New Vehicles Across China Later This Year

German carmaker BMW to partner with Deepseek on plans to bring advanced AI technology into its latest vehicles in China.

The move will begin later this year as part of the company’s deepening focus on digital innovation within the Chinese market.

Speaking at the Shanghai Auto Show, BMW CEO Oliver Zipse emphasized the growing role of artificial intelligence in the automotive industry. He confirmed that BMW will begin using AI systems from Chinese startup DeepSeek in its new models.

“China is leading in AI breakthroughs,” Zipse said. “So, we’re expanding our partnerships to stay ahead. From later this year, DeepSeek AI will be part of our new vehicles in China.”

This decision highlights BMW’s commitment to aligning with China’s rapidly evolving tech space. By partnering with local AI leaders like DeepSeek, BMW aims to deliver smarter and more personalized driving experiences to Chinese consumers.

The announcement was made during the 2024 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, where the latest vehicles and technologies were showcased to global audiences. BMW’s collaboration with the AI giant is expected to enhance driver assistance systems, in-car voice functions, and user interfaces. The focus is on making driving more intuitive and connected.
